The Alesis DM5 Drum kit is one of the most affordable electronic drum kits on the market. This is ideal for players who need to practice silently, or for people who would like a midi drum set to use with their computer based home studio. Compared to the more expensive electronic kits, the pads on the Alesis feel a bit hard & not as realistic as the Roland & Yamaha kits. The frame is also very light weight, so we wouldn't recommend this kit for anyone who was using it a lot. However, the DM5 brain does have some excellent sounds in it & that is probably the best feature of this kit. The kit is also expandable & extra pads can be purchased & added to the kit quite simply. You'll need headphones or an amp to hear the kit.
