Ashdown Electric Blue EB12 Bass Amp

Ashdown is one of the worlds biggest names in bass amplification. They have a huge list of famous users (U2, System of a Down, Radio Head, Jamiroquai - the list goes on & on!), and whats even better is that Ashdown is a British company. The Ashdown Electric Blue EB12 is an affordable amp designed to be a bass players first gigging amp. The 180 watt power amp is loud enough for small gigs & rehearsals, & the amp features a DI output so that you can easily connect this to a PA system without having to mic the amp up. The sound is also good - there is a decent EQ & set of tone switches that will enable the user to dial up a good selection of tones to suit most styles of music. Most bass players will find that the bass response on the bigger Electric Blue EB15 is better & as such most people buy the Electric Blue EB15 rather than the EB12. However, the EB12 is slightly more portable & a few pounds cheaper too, & it still packs a surprising punch. So if you're really looking for a small gigging bass amp on a budget then the Ashdown EB12 could well be the amp for you.

Ashdown Electric Blue bass amplification loads legendary Ashdown tone into an affordable new amp head and a pair of high-performance, high-value combos. The EB 12-180 1 x 12" combo uses a 180 Watts RMS fan-cooled fast-transient power stage, and a fully-featured bass preamplifier with inputs for both active and passive instruments, an illumunated VU meter, 5 band EQ with Bright and Deep switches, a front panel-mounted balanced DI output for connection to a PA or recording console, an FX loop, a tuner/line output and the classic Ashdown sub-harmonic generator.

A high-performance Ashdown BlueLine bass driver ensures exceptional attack, clarity and low-end performance, while an extension speaker output can be used to connect an additional cabinet for use in larger venues. The cabinet is finished in a tough, scuff-proof carpet covering with protective corners and a kick-proof metal grille.
