The Gretsch Catalina series kits are definately one of the best mid to high range kits ever produced. The choice of wood includes maple, ash and birch for the club kits. The ability of these kits to compliment any musical situation is heightened by the variation in sizes and finishes. The club kits especially stand out in this area, with the mod featuring a 20" deep bass drum and the rock being most likely the cheapest kit available with a 26" bass drum. It's hard to fault these kits; the hardware is sturdy and reliable, the drums sing in a number of different voices and the finishes could easily convince a casual observer that they were top of the range kits. Catalina Club Rock gives you classic Gretsch power for classic Rock music. Using a "one up, two down" configuration, this kit includes a 16"x26" bass drum, 6.5"x14" snare drum, 9"x13" rack tom with 16"x16" and 16"x18" floor toms for thunderous sounds. Mahogany shells with naturally finished interiors project a sound that's big, round and warm. Other features include Evans Coated G1 heads on snare and all toms, Mini GTS suspension system for the rack tom and thick 12.7mm floor tom legs for sturdy support. Big, classic sounding drums for big, classic sounding grooves.
