CORNFORD MK50H HEAD

The idea behind the head is to give our fellow guitarists an amp that can be gigged or used in the studio with unrivalled ease of use, total flexibility, and no pratting about, boutique amp quality with all the guitar sounds that all of us guitarists are hearing in our heads but are struggling like crazy to find.  The ethic is to provide awesome guitar sounds, superlative quality and affordable prices to our fellow guitarists.

Spec: 50 watt all valve head.  One channel with foot-switchable master volumes and gain/overdrive (effectively the same as most companies 2 channel amps).
Valves: 2 x 5881WXT. 4 x 12AX7WA.
Cabinet: 19mm ply lock-jointed. We still use pine for anything with a Speaker in it as it helps the sound no-end but the heads will use Ply as they are not acoustic.
Hardware: All corners, screws, cup washers, handle fixings ect. Are nickel   Plated.  Bespoke CNC punched, powder coated grills.  14
Gauge (2mm) powder coated chassis with 14 gauge base / screening plate secured to chassis with 4 machine screws. Leather handle.
Transformers: Custom designed in-house and hand wound.
Construction Methods: Point to point hand wired throughout and hand assembled. No PCBs of any sort.  Nothing board mounted.  Everything is bolted directly to chassis.
Controls: Chicken head knobs. Metal toggle mains switches.  2 x inputs Hi and lo. Front panel from left to right: - Volume/gain, overdrive (foot switchable extra gain with red LED indicator), Bass, Middle, Treble, Master 1 and Master 2 (foot switchable for volume lift, power amp, tonal differences ect. with green LED indicator), Presence, Resonance, Standby, Mains.  Rear panel
From left to right: - Mains inlet, Mains fuse, HT fuse, Speaker impedance selector 4ohms, 8ohms, 16ohms series effects loop send and return, footswitch socket.

Accessories Supplied: Footswitch: hand made 14 gauge, powder coated, 2 metal footswitches with LED indicators for overdrive and master 2, Top quality 8mm cable wired to Neutrik nickel-plated stereo jack. Mains lead, 10ft. moulded plugs each end (at least it will reach the floor if you are using 2 cabinets). Speaker lead, 2ft. top quality 8mm cable with nickel-plated Neutrik jacks. Guitar lead, 15ft. top quality Van Damme spiral screen cable with nickel-plated Neutrik jacks.

All of the above are supplied so that nothing interferes with the way that a Cornford should sound and it makes a refreshing change because normally you don't get anything.
