New Recording Studio at The Ockendon School

We met with The Ockendon School earlier in the year to discuss their plans to build a brand new recording studio and video editing suite.
After successfully winning the bid for equipment and services, we installed their new equipment early this September.
The studio, based around a Soundcraft 24Channel mixing console, was housed in piece of stunning, custom-built, maple studio desk.
They needed the ability to record upto 24 channels simultaneously with the ability to switch recording devices from a ‘dedicated’ hardware recorder and a ‘computer’ based system. They also needed to be able to record from 3 separate rooms – so we configured an intuitive patching system to be able to do all this in a clean and easy manner.
We provided a 20 way tie-line system to their ‘main’ live room, a 10 way tie-line to their ‘vocal booth’ and an additional 20 way tie-line to the adjacent ‘classroom’ which is optionally ‘patchable’ as they require.

So far the department has a huge group of excited students itching to get in and recording, but this studio will also act as a central recording studio for the public in their surrounding area.
