Relocation! Relocation! Relocation! at Christ's College, Guildford

May 2009

When Christ’s College, Guildford, needed to move their entire Performing Arts department into a brand new purpose built building, Paul Riley, Senior Assistant Principal had no hesitation in employing the MEC Installation Team!

The school is amongst the first in the country to have access to the new ‘Creative and Media’ Diploma, which is equivalent to at least 5 GCSEs. The learners come from a range of schools and Christ’s College has responsibility for the Performing Arts aspect of the course.

As a lead school, Christ’s College has been very fortunate in being able to invest in very high specification equipment for Music Technology, offering learners some of the very best facilities in the county!

As a long standing MEC customer, Christ’s College, Guildford have massed a considerable amount of equipment, which all needed to be re-housed in the new building and took three MEC technicians over a week to complete.

In addition to relocating existing equipment, MEC supplied Furman power conditioners, Omnirax studio furniture especially imported from California, Ghost Acoustics room treatment and a selection of high quality outboard and backline giving the studio users the opportunity to record superior instruments and amplifiers.

As a subcontractor to Viglen Ltd., we also configured a new Music ICT Suite with the latest Cubase 5 software and Yamaha’s KX49 controller keyboards.

After the job was completed, Paul Riley commented “the MEC guys really know their trade – any school considering a major project involving music technology or professional audio should involve the MEC team from day one!”

You may not have a couple of studios that need relocating, but should you require a engineer to fix your studio, a technician to inspect your PC or Mac suite or a wireman to install some audio tie-lines, please give us a call to discuss you requirements!
